My name is Christos Papandreopoulos and I started teaching from 2011. I find that teaching is an integral part of every musician’s life. When you start teaching what you already know and try to express it with words, you gain a deeper understanding of your own craft.
I am very passionate about creating the correct basis for every young student.
I strive to provide the broadest education possible, with great emphasis on aural skills, improvisation and solid technique.
I find very engaging as well to work with later beginners and adult students who have chosen music as their favourite activity. Together we work to improve their skills and enlarge their capacity to enjoy music.
During my studies I became very interested in the relation between musical analysis and performance and wrote my thesis on it. This research changed my approach to playing and
teaching. For that thesis I received the Frans Schreuder Prize 2016 of the European Piano Teachers Association.
In 2019 I started collaborating with the Online Department of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in order to create a systematic online piano course for beginners.
My most important teachers were Pierre-Laurent Aimard at the Hochschule für Tanz und Musik Köln (2016-18) and Ralph van Raat and Willem Brons at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (2012-16).
The greatest part of my performing life is dedicated to chamber music. Together with classical saxophonist Andreas Mader we were pronounced one of the winners of the DutchClassical Talent Tour 2019/20 and in 2019 we released our debut CD.
